September 2004
September is National Sewing Month Each year, we celebrate National Sewing Month (sewing.org). If you are a sewing enthusiast or just beginning, sewing is a rewarding and fun activity. Sewing is a satisfying and pleasurable hobby, whether you are creating fashions, home decor, quilts, or crafts. Prym Consumer USA Inc. would like to invite everyone to join in the spirit of "Each One Teach One" (EOTO) by sharing your sewing skills with someone. When teaching others, you are passing down a time-honored tradition and enriching their lives with this life-long hobby. Also, take advantage of learning new techniques by visiting your local sewing/quilting shops to see what classes they offer. It is a wonderful way to make lasting friendships and share your enthusiasm for sewing. Most shops also have a list of the local sewing and quilting guilds. If you are not already a member of a guild, joining these creative people will offer a world of inspiration and knowledge for both the expert and beginner. In honor of National Sewing Month, we have created a new section on our website, Lunch and Learn. Lunch and Learn is a series of short articles and quick tips to inform and inspire you with seasonal sewing trends and fashion design updates. Organize a lunchtime sewing group at school/work. Or, take time to get together with friends at home. No matter what the surroundings, good times and special memories are sure to abound. Take a few minutes out of your busy calendar to enjoy this new sewing section. My project this month is very easy but opens a world of possibilities. I share the basics for sewing a Personality Pillowcase as well as how to embellish it using Fabric Crayons. This is a great beginner project and a fun way to create a great gift. We hope you will enjoy it. Thank you for your interest in Prym Consumer USA Inc. products. Be sure to become a member of our website so you can continue to enjoy all our projects and news. Next month begins the holiday season, so join us again for all the latest news and projects.Creatively yours,

Amy Summers
